A Couple of New Hex Map Icons

I’ve been periodically drawing a couple of new hex map icons that have the “classic” RPG look.  They are just transparent 250×250 pixel PNG images, so you should be able to use them in many different mapping tools (such as my Hexographer project) or even as brushes or just loaded as is into a general image editing program.

These are shown here at their full size.  Remember that for hex maps it is also(actually even more)  important for them to look good when scaled down.  (But to ensure a printed map will look nice, the larger size is needed.)

The first is a Palace:

The second is a Geyser:

I’ll be adding these (and likely others) to Hexographer in the next release.  If you’re using the pro version, you can add these new features now by going to the “Options” menu.

Also whether you’re using Hexographer or not, if you want a slew of other hex icons in the same style, you can go here: http://inkwellideas.com/hexographer_forum/index.php?topic=90.0

Those have extra colors compared to the default Hexographer icon set.  I’ll post the default Hexographer icons shortly.

Black and white hex icons are also available: http://inkwellideas.com/hexographer_forum/index.php?topic=56.0

(Yes, you’re free to use these icons for any purpose as far as I’m concerned.)

(If you’re a better artist than I am and you’d like to revise them and donate them back, please do!)
