Interesting Kickstarters & Updates

This is just a list of Kickstarters I find interesting and have backed recently as well as statuses of those still outstanding:

  • Tavern Cards: These are by Chaotic Shiny Productions, makers of many cool random generators.  Use the cards to randomly develop the tavern’s drinks, food, patrons, etc.  And they have all the symbols for a regular deck of cards to use for a card game.
  • Fate Core: Third edition of the Fate rules.  It has made stretch goals galore now that it is at almost 3000% of its original goal.
  • Deluxe Tunnels and Trolls: New edition of one of the oldest RPGs. I’m on the fence about this one (I simply haven’t played the system and I’m not sure when I would) but I may get it just for posterity.

Things I’ve backed that haven’t yet delivered, oldest first:

  • Dwimmermount: I know there’s lots of discussion about the delays behind it and the lack of communication at times.  But I’m fairly certain it will ship when ready and looks well over half done.
  • Myth & Magic Player’s Guide – 2E Revived: This is pretty late too, and I was concerned with a lack of updates until a couple of days ago.  I’m fairly sure we’ll get it soon and I’m still looking forward to it.
  • Reaper Miniatures’ Bones: I’m sure we’ll get them when they are ready… there is just so much for them to do after adding all the stretch goals.  I’m sure they are still making money from it even after the stretch goals, but they stretch goals do add time.
  • Numenera: It seems on track and even if it runs late I have no concerns about not getting it.
  • Project Eternity: It has a lot of backing and is likely on track… but a video game has more moving parts and complexity.  I still think everything will go well, but I’m more concerned with it that Numenera for example.
  • Myth & Magic GM’s Guide: See the player’s guide comments.
  • Medieval Village for 28mm Gamers: I love this idea.  In fact I was looking into doing almost the exact same thing if I had more time.  I think it will be late due to some technical issues they report, but they definitely keep everyone updated.
  • Spears of the Dawn: Looking forward to this one too.  It is time for an backer update, but I’m not concerned about it.
  • Larry Elmore Artbook: I’m sure we’ll get this in a timely manner.  It only wrapped up pledging a few weeks ago.
  • Adventures Dark & Deep Player’s Manual: The “Curious Volume of Forgotten Lore” shipped on time so I’m not worried about this.  I really want to see what Joe has put together!

  1. Based on a posting, Adventures Dark & Deep Player’s Manual may struggle to deliver on time due to a very sudden announcement by OneBookShelf that their sites will not participate in Kickstarter fulfillment effective immediately. Joe will deliver; I think the only question is can he find a new publishing partner who can help him keep his initial schedule.

  2. Yeah, but I think he can just get them shipped to him and re-send them out. (It may take a few evenings, but I know from experience it can be done.) Also, I’m told by another source that if OneBookShelf was already aware he was planning to use them then they would follow through on that.

  3. Please do support dT&T(tunnels and trolls), if only for the artwork(Liz Danforth). It’s also going to have an 8 page colour section due to one of the stretch goals being reached. When it hits $75,000(currently at $65,709) we’ll get another 8 colour pages too. Who can deny the value of the new edition of T&T(dT&T as it’s now known) with 16 pages in colour?

    I’m all over it…

  4. Gufnork: I likely will. I need to take some time to look over the samples.

All: Spears of Dawn has updated and has the main PDF done.
