Polygon shadow in Hexographer 2/ Worldographer.

Hexographer 2 is coming soon!  (No definitive ETA yet because we want to have a good demo version ready.)  You can get more information and sign up for the official announcement email at this link. Currently we’re previewing the upcoming new and improved features.

This improvement applies to polygons, ovals, lines, and curves… you’ll now have options to give your maps drop shadows (seen here), inner shadows and blurs.  These will be very configurable, as appropriate: change the color of the shadows, offsets, radius, etc. You’ll also be able to do combinations of all three.

  1. Hello! Really looking forward to Worldographer. I have been using Hexographer a lot lately. Can you talk a little about user interface? Navigating folders, menus, etc?

  2. Sure! We’ll do a post on that. Its similar, not ground-breaking, but it is updated to a new, better framework. The trick is to add the extra options while keeping its ease of use (which many people comment on and love.)

  3. Not sure if you are accepting feature requests….

And I am not a programmer so I don’t know the difficulty involved ….

But having features like ‘undo’ and ‘delete’ map items using the keyboard rather than having to click on the interface would be nice. Small stuff that makes the app easier to use.

  4. There was an issue in original Hexographer that prevented shortcuts from working consistently. I don’t recall the specifics. But I do have undo/redo working with the standard ctrl-z and ctrl-y In Hex 2.
