The free version has been updated. The pro version is available at the normal download location. (Sent to Pro users via email.) Pro users have a new hopefully easier install option. (See the details on the Pro version download page.)

Go to the main Hexographer page.)
There are some major new features in this version:
*The ability to add "Map Items." You can add buildings of various shapes and sizes, a couple of different types of trees and tree clusters, a "compass rose" for creating a compass (just add an "N" or "N" "E" "S" and "W"), and more. Note that I think there will also be an option to show semi-realistic versions of the buildings with one of a few textures soon. The rooflines of these buildings will also be tweaked. A way to add your own images will be added within a week or two.
*Instructions for each of the main tabs. Now each tab/subtab that contains the main functionality (Terrain, Features, Simple Symbols, Styled Lines, Custom Lines, etc.) has a button near the top that will open a window describing all the buttons on that tab and even mentioning a couple of extra pieces of related functionality available through the menu items.
Other features/enhancements:
*Several new terrain and feature icons were added: cultivated farmland, deep sea, deep ocean, fishing, ranch, winery, airbase, army base, crater, spaceship, good magic source, bad magic source.
*Hex numbering was pulled out to a separate window. It is accessed through the "Customize Hex Number Settings..." item on the "Options" menu.
*You can now set the default elevation values of terrain on both the customize hexes and add/edit/remove custom hexes windows.
*The prompt showing a pro user the number of days left in the license has been removed. This information is shown at the top of the initial Hexographer window.
*Whether hex numbers are on or off is now saved when the map is saved.
*A map may be created with as few as 5 rows and columns. (The previous limit was 10.)
*Many buttons that were only images (such as remove feature, new line, remove last point, select line, etc.) now have text to improve usability.
*More font options for the map key configuration tool. Separate fonts can be set for the key's title, scale information and entries.
Bugs Fixed:
*Simple symbols were not being repositioned properly when columns/rows were added/removed from a map. This was causing them to not display.
*A line that had no tags (infrastructure, political, natural) but was set to "gm only" would cause the map file to not load properly.
*An issue with vertex to vertex line drawing for maps in the "true rows" orientation has been fixed.
