Fantasy Landmark Generator/Table

It’s been a while since we’ve done a fun random table, and while browsing other websites, something put the idea of a table of fantasy landmarks in the ole noggin.

Imagine the Colossus of Rhodes or Mount Rushmore, but customized for your game world.  You’ll want to roll for each column although not all landmarks need to have a special feature. Use your judgement.

1 Ruler Sitting on Throne Granite Ancient and Crumbling Undisturbed, very hidden compartment only accessible by very rare event.
2 Ruler/Warrior Vanquishing a Beast Bronze Old and moss-covered or wind-worn Undisturbed, very hidden dungeon entrance only accessible by very rare event.
3 Dragon Guarding the Realm Iron New Bestows a curse if disturbed.
4 God Looking Down on his/her Subjects Gold-plated Unnaturally pristine Provides a minor magical blessing to the area (better crops, healihier children, etc.)
5 Heads of the Realm’s 3-6 Greatest Leaders Marble Fairly old, but well-maintained. Magical/planar gateway under the proper very rare circumstances.
6 Giant Symbol (scales of justice, moon, etc.) Painted Marble Ancient, but in fair condition Displays a riddle/puzzle that has not been solved.
7 Kingdom’s Founder Exploring on Horseback Limestone Fairly new Folklore tells the landmark’s subject with save the realm in a future age. This may or may not be true.
8 Life-size Diorama of a Major Battle Petrified Wood Old and moss-covered Subject’s soul(s) is/are trapped and tormented in the structure.
9 Great Sorcerer Casting a Spell Volcanic Rock Fairly new but crumbling (could be poor construction, nearby earthquake, etc.) Secret organization sacrifices at the landmark each month.
10 Giant Navigation Structure Brass Under restoration Local government hosts guided tours of the landmark.
11 Ancient Clock Copper Desecrated (roll again for remaining portion’s condition) Secret organization protects the structure. They do not share the government’s interests.
12 Burial Structure (Maybe a simple but large structure with the deceased inside or have a statue of him/her or a favorite symbol.) Combination: Roll twice Incomplete (roll again for condition of partial structure) Landmark is actually a secret observatory of an alien or extra-planar civilization.
