(Get samples on the linked pages below!)
Inkwell Ideas is pleased to announce the release of its “NPC Portraits Deck: Fantasy” cards. These were soft-launched a couple of weeks ago, but now we’re sure they are correct and we are ready to get the word out. The deck has 54 cards, plus front and back cover cards. Each of the 54 main cards details a fantasy character with a portrait on one side and minimal system neutral style stats, personality and background on the card back.
- Need a quick Non-Player Character picture & background & personality because the players want to interact more with a character? Our NPC
- Portraits Deck has over 50 characters. Of course you’re free to adjust the NPC’s info to fit the situation.
- Doing a one-shot and don’t want to take time to generate characters? Use the NPC Portraits Deck and adjust levels, abilities and equipment.
- Every character is designed to have a couple of interesting story hooks. Each of these can lead to further adventures!
These cards are available as PDF and as print-on-demand cards through RPGNow/DriveThruRPG.
We have also just re-released our ”Encounter Decks” products through DriveThru/RPGNow’s print on demand service. PDFs are also available. So far, we’ve made two of these Encounter Decks with 56 Mini-adventures each, plus many variations. These cards are designed to make many mini-adventures (a.k.a. side treks or hex-crawl stocking). Simply draw a few until you get an mini-adventure that fits (has the setup you need). Then draw more cards when you need a map or trap idea, plot twist or unusual treasure. One side of each card has the mini adventure outline, the other side has a map and other details.
Encounter Decks Set 1 has line art maps while Encounter Decks Set 2 has color maps. However, the maps and encounter outlines are all different–they are NOT two versions of the same text.
