New Hexographer Icons Supporting Our November Patreon Project
Inkwell Ideas is continuing to support our software products (Hexographer, Dungeonographer, Cityographer and the Coat of Arms Design Studio) with new icons and more development through a Patreon effort. November is the third month. To show you what you’ll get, we’re releasing more samples. Through Patreon, each month we’ll put together at least one pack of 15+ icons for each of our 4 programs. (60+ icons in all, and some months we may do two packs of 60+ icons each.) Plus, some icons can be used in multiple tools.
To use these icons as new terrain or feature icons in Hexographer: Save them to your computer, then go to the “Configure Hexes” tab in an open map. You can use these to replace an existing icon or add a new icon on that tab. Enter/change the name and other details and use the matching file chooser to select the icon file. Or if you want to use them as 1E/World style map items, go to the map items tab and scroll down to look for the “import custom map item” button for a file chooser to select the icon file.
Based on a survey of the project’s backers, for Hexographer this month we’re going to focus on new colored resource icons and a few more 1E/World style icons. Below is a drop of amber, a crevasse, and a pelt (which can be made into a silhouette if you wish using Hexographer’s “use custom color” checkbox and color chooser on the icons tab). Other resource icons coming this month: beehive, fruit, grain, horse, jade, marble, meat, pelt, and spices. In the 1E style, we’ll have more crevasses, a whirlpool, and a geyser. (You can also see more previews in our prior posts about the Patreon.)
