September’s City Patreon Map Icons: Arabian
This is our first preview for September’s Patreon icons. If you’re not familiar with Patreon, it is something like an opt-in monthly subscription. This month’s theme is Arabia. (But as you can see the graphics can be used for other related genres.) This post has the Cityographer map icons by artist/cartographer Keith Curtis, which features a Palace and Mosque, as well as other buildings essential for an Arabian themed city.
Each month we’ll have 4 map icon sets: isometric map icons (good for Worldographer, but usable in Hexographer 1 as well); more flat/classic & 1e style icons for Worldographer or Hexographer; more dungeon and building interior graphics perfect for Dungeonographer; and more city/village building icons designed for Cityographer. All the graphics will be transparent PNGs, so they should be usable in other map & image editors as well.
And as we announced last month, in addition to the icon sets we’re going to give license keys for the upcoming new city/town/village mapping functionality being added to Worldographer for all of our Patreon backers when ready. We don’t have a firm ETA on the release of that functionality… it won’t be this week, but it will be before 2019. All Patreon backers at the time that we release the city mapping update to Worldographer will get a key. You will need to already have a Worldographer key, however the new functionality which mimics Cityographer (but better: easier to configure, upgraded UI, more options) will not require any extra payment for Patreon backers.
We post preview thumbnails of each set, and make a single paid post through Patreon near the end of the month with the actual graphics.
