DungeonMorphs: Cities Descriptions 4r, 5r, & 6r
Here we have more City DungeonMorph write-ups! See also the full list of posts in this series.
These are simplified & shorter versions of the one to two page descriptions we created for our newest DungeonMorphs via our book of encounter ideas. As always, change them up and/or add to them as much as needed to fit your setting.
Note: Each die is given a letter-code. These designs go with the “R” die, for sides 4, 5, & 6. See the image for small versions of the actual designs.
4r
- The center of the tile is a park dedicated to the “Defenders of the Line” who protected the city from a great threat a generation ago.
- All homes in this section of the city must follow “beautification” standards due to being so close to the park. This requires the homes to be well-maintained year round.
- The larger buildings are various small (but fairly quiet) businesses: hatmaker, tailor, baker, etc.
5r
- The four statues honor four great leaders of the city. The park in between is known simply as “City Park”. Each statue is animated and performs some historical action: surveying a battle, delivering wood to the city during a harsh winter, planning to retake the city, defeating an evil threat, etc.
- The large building in the center-right area is a museum to the city’s history. Another building here is an art museum. A third is a nature museum with various stuffed creatures. A fourth is a small museum of magic.
- A dryad, Sylauren, visits the park often. She is fascinated by people and studies them from within the trees. She has a path of trees (each about 60′ apart) which allows her to move magically from tree to tree most of the way.
6r
- The rift was caused by a great (maybe not completely natural) earthquake which revealed caverns below.
- The great stair was built after an uproar when five bodies were found at the bottom of the rift each a month apart. Officially the deaths were deemed accidental falls, but something much more sinister occurred.
- Most buildings in this area are medium sized warehouses. However, some are being divided into apartments.
