Sidequest: The Great Ascension

Here is another preview of our upcoming Sidequests Kickstarter. (Please select the notify link to show your interest.  Kickstarter will automatically email you when we launch.

Background/GM Info:

A titanic kaiju is threatening a village. The beast can only be  defeated by climbing it to reach its vital points, but parts of its body are guarded  by monsters who live amidst its vast form.

Getting the PCs Involved:

• The PCs hear a town crier warning everyone to flee before a giant monster arrives.
• They feel trembling, then see it approaching!

Encounters:

• The PCs must get close to the kaiju in order to climb it. As they do so, they must avoid being trampled under its gigantic steps.
• The PCs try to climb the kaiju only for it to feel them and start trying to slap them away, as a human might slap a mosquito.
• The PCs get high enough on the kaiju that they begin being attacked by harpies and other monstrous bird-like creatures who nest on its body.
• The PCs make their way through the kaiju’s scales only to run into large worm-like parasites which live there and try to eat any intruders.
• The PCs reach the kaiju’s head. It sees them and begins trying to kill them in earnest.

Follow-Up Adventure Ideas:

• The PCs must find some way to dispose of the kaiju’s massive corpse.
