Worldographer 2025 New Version Now Crowdfunding

Exciting news, mapmakers! The next evolution our map software is here: Worldographer 2025! Like a new car model, it’s coming out before the year even starts—so you can dive in now! A full demo of the new program is ready for you to explore, and you can find the link to it on our crowdfunding page. The full release drops a few weeks after the crowdfunding ends.

What’s New in Worldographer 2025?

• Updated, more modern UI.
• Revise UI drawers for Terrain, Features, Shapes, and Labels. Each separates the various settings controls from the buttons of terrain/features so they can scroll independently.
• Many small UI tweaks (more pre-set rotate options, colored control points for curves, etc.)
• A much faster world generator—so the live preview works for larger sized maps. Plus major improvements to the river, nation/empire, & hex crawl generators.
• Customize the terrain the world generator uses.
• Prettier coastlines and rivers built-in for the classic style maps. (In the older version, only isometric maps have a pretty coastline option.)
• More street layout options for cities/towns/villages.
• More built-in icons to support generating modern, sci-fi, western, and post-apocalypse city/village maps. Plus extra options to auto-generate these settlement types.
• More special lines options: control the lengths of tick/hash marks in elevation and railroad lines.
• Generate a room on a battlemat by selecting a few options (room size, type, doors, furniture, etc) then place it wherever you want on the map!

Plus, it still loads all your existing Worldographer maps and retains all the features you love!

If you haven’t used Worldographer before, it installs to your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer–so you never have to worry about a bad connection or our website being down. It is easier than most other map-making programs because the controls are streamlined to make maps in certain styles and it features a slew of generators to make a world, region, city, village, or battlemat that is close to what you want–then you just tweak it from there.  But if you prefer you can hand-place everything–the map is fully editable no matter how you created it.
