A Hex Crawl / Sandbox Location Idea Generator Deck

We’re working on what we hope will be a few decks of what we’re calling ‘Hexploration Decks’. We’ve got a full deck’s sample (where we’ve combined several cards from each of the planned decks) linked on the crowdfunding preview page here.

Most of the cards help you develop locations–evocative art on one side, charts to generate the details on the back. Examples are a fallen estate, usurper’s fortress, swamp oracle, standing stones, etc.

Some (about 10) are trait cards where each side has a few charts of ideas centered on a theme for that card’s side. For example, ways to flesh out making one of the locations haunted, be a guild’s base, or have a fey presence.

And 5 cards are hex crawl/sandbox prep guidance as well as simplified ideas for running a hex crawl.

We’re about a third of the way into developing the decks, so now is a great time to share what we have and get feedback on our direction before we get much further with the rest.
