Modern Military Map Icon

Each month we create a set of 100+ map icons through our Patreon based on a theme our supporters select. This month’s winning theme was “Modern Military”–designed to be reminiscent of 1970’s science fiction. Support us/get them via Patreon! (On the last day of the month we make a pinned post to get the icons via DriveThruRPG at no extra cost.)  

We’re at the end of the month, so this post will have both of our main previews.  We’re also including a handful of world/kingdom icons, but with just 5 classic style icons and 5 isometric ones, it isn’t worth previewing them.

There are over 50 icons in this settlement subset! Buildings of all types whether general or more specific, plus a few planes (two are half shown at the top) and a bunch of ships. A little over half of the ships are shown here. And don’t worry, the icons are of the entire ship–if I were to include them fully, we’d need to zoom out too much.

And time prevented us from making a Battlemat sample map, this thumbnail sheet shows you all the icons in the set.  As it notes, then icons on the bottom 2/3 are at scaled down double the others–but are still big enough to not pixelate if a 1″ square when printed represents 5′ (typical battlemat scale.) If scaled for a 5’/square battlemat the jet (for example) should be 11 squares across, not 5.5.
