Random Village Map Generator Update

Thanks all for the wonderful feedback on this project!  I’ve updated it with a second village template that is quite a bit different from the original.  In addition, both map templates have one extra road that is added to the map 80% of the time, and that road has one of few different possible special attractions.  And of course, the number of buildings and which spots they occupy varies with each refresh. (Unless you set the number using the drop-down selectors, although the locations may still change.)

I’m going to look at trying to make something even more dynamic, so I may be making only small incremental changes to the random village map generator for a while.  (Plus, work on my other projects calls!)  For now though, I’m going to kick back and read and/or sleep.

  1. Joe,

This is a terrific idea. Have you considered allowing for “density”, for example some people may want the houses closer together.

Another thought, have you considered different styles of houses, such as African, middle-eastern or even Asian?

Thanks again for another terrific free tool!
