GenCon Coupon Advice Wanted
I posted this on the GenCon forums, but I wanted to open it up to another audience, so I’ll post it here too…
I’m looking for GenCon coupon ideas. I’ve got a couple of specific ideas, but I don’t want to prejudice my more general question so I’ll hold my current ideas back for a day or two.
- Do you know about the coupon book? (If you don’t know, GenCon attendees get a coupon book in their registration material with a book of coupons.)
- How do you use it? (Ex: Do you just look for products/publishers you know? Do you look over every coupon? Do you use all the coupons or just a few related to your most favorite few games? Do you just toss it?)
- Would you prefer a free small product that can stand on its own (sampler), or a free booster/bonus item, or a discount? If there were a discount, would you prefer a deep discount on one item or a modest discount on several/all?
- Is there one coupon from last year’s book (or any year for that matter) that really stands out for some reason, good or bad? (You can mention more than one if multiple stand out.)
- What coupon, if any, got you interested in a new game/product? What about the coupon grabbed your interest? (art, text, discount amount, etc.)
- Roughly what percentage of the coupons do you use? Do you have any guesses as to the general coupon use overall?
Answer any or all of the above… and/or feel free to just comment on the coupons in general.
Thank you very much in advance to anyone who takes a bit of time to answer!
