DungeonMorph Expeditions: Add A Free Solo/Co-op Framework To Any TTRPG Game

A pair of new format DungeonMorphs in use. One is laid over the other as more ways to connect them/close them off while still being compatible with other DungeonMorphs.

We’ve been iterating on a way to play tabletop RPGs without a pre-defined adventure and GM for 15 years–ever since our first DungeonMorph Kickstarter in 2011.  Crazy.  Every year or two we pull it out and revise it and get closer to something we like.  Then we pull it out again and revise it or even start over.

But now we’ve got something we really love! This framework combined with any TTRPG system you enjoy (especially one that is simpler or you know well) lets you quest to your heart’s delight solo or co-op if no one wants to be the GM. Get the PDF here.

It is designed to be printed in booklet form (on US letter pages with each ‘page’ as half of one side of a sheet of paper).  We’ll have FREE copies of these as booklets with a few separate cards each at our Gen Con 2026 booth (#150) for anyone who brings our coupon (pick up the official Gen Con coupon book) while supplies last.

The key aspects of “DungeonMorph Expeditions”:

  • 36 Quest Catalysts–what has happened that caused the need for a quest.
  • Plus ideas for Starts, Twists, NPCs, cave features, and more.
  • An Oracle for determining anything from “Are the guards are alert?” to “Are the herbs we found the goal of the quest?”. Plus rules and ideas for adding complications and boons to the Oracle’s result.
  • Rules to determine if an area has foes or not. And if so, methods to decide which foes are there.
  • A chart of nearly 200 icons that act like a Tarot reading or Rorschach test to decide what is unusual about an area.

The quests here work best with out cavern style DungeonMorphs and can even be used with any cavern map!. But the principle can be applied to any of DungeonMorph. Get them also at Gen Con or in our store.
